Homes and staircases in West Mersea

Seaside bungalows, weatherboard houses, chalet-style homes and beach-hut-adjacent cottages mix with newer homes. Curved and angled staircases appear in older island houses, and some homes have external steps.

Local tip: The Strood can cover at the highest tides, so we plan island visits around the tide tables and tell you in advance.
