Accessibility Statement

Our customers include many older and disabled people, so accessibility matters to us.

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Stairlifts Colchester is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA.

What we have done

  • Clear headings, landmarks and a "skip to content" link for keyboard and screen reader users.
  • Text alternatives on every meaningful image.
  • Labels on every form field, with errors announced to assistive technology.
  • A responsive layout that works from small phones to large monitors, and text that can be zoomed to 200% without losing content.
  • Strong colour contrast between text and background, and visible keyboard focus.
  • Menus and accordions that work with a keyboard, and no content that flashes.

Known limitations

We test the site regularly, but some content may fall short. For example, a few older guides may use tables that are harder to navigate with a screen reader. We are working to improve these. Where a PDF or external page is linked, we cannot control its accessibility.
